PlumaGram for Android — download APK

PlumaGram is a free, open-source Telegram client based on Telegram X. It is lightweight and fast, just like Telegram X, but adds features that were missing from it, including video calls, voice chats, topics in forum groups, Telegram Stars, voice message transcription, and many convenience settings. All additional options are grouped together in one section: “Settings → MagiX”.

Version history

v0.1.380 Latest2026-10-04

What's new:

  • Mini Apps can now open directly in PlumaGram: through "Open" buttons in bots, buttons on bot keyboards, and links such as t.me/bot/app. Payments inside Mini Apps are not supported yet.
  • Voice messages can now be transcribed into text directly on the device, without Premium or an internet connection. MagiX → "Speech recognition" offers a lightweight model (29 MB) and the more accurate GigaAM model with punctuation (215 MB).
  • Video chapters: lines in the format "12:34 Title" in captions are automatically turned into chapters. Markers appear on the seek bar, the current chapter title is displayed, and a chapter list is available. Timestamps in captions are clickable. Long captions are collapsed to two lines.
  • Player improvements: playback speed can be selected from a compact list above the button, the time is shown above the seek bar while scrubbing, and the next video you swipe to starts playing automatically.
  • Video gestures are now protected against accidental activation: brightness and volume controls appear after holding a finger for about 0.5 seconds with a short vibration. Swiping down closes the video, while double-tapping pauses it. Gestures can be enabled in ⋮ → "Gestures".
  • You can set a custom background for private chats (⋮ → "Chat background") and view the background that the other person set in the official app.
  • A new "Saved messages by chats" section has been added to the side menu.
  • You can pin more chats than Telegram normally allows. These additional pins are stored only on this device.
  • You can customize the first rows in the "Share" menu: long-press a chat and select "Pin to first rows".
  • A contact note has been added to profiles. There is also an auto-delete setting for new chats in Privacy settings, as well as an option to choose the name color for Premium users.
  • "More…" in the message menu now opens in the same window. "View in topic" has been moved there.
  • Zoomed photos can now be closed by swiping down from the top edge. A threshold, vibration, and hint help prevent accidental closing. The feature can be disabled in MagiX → "Camera and photos".
  • Swiping to reply in an album now replies to the specific photo where the swipe started. When jumping to the reply, the original message is highlighted in blue.
  • Added support for more service messages instead of showing "not supported", including background changes, gifts, group calls, suggested posts, and other events.
  • The "Create" menu has been redesigned in PlumaGram's own style.
  • Added three light themes that pair with the dark Moss, Graphite, and Twilight themes. Theme files are available on GitHub alongside the APK.

Fixed:

  • The status bar no longer disappears after watching a video, and the keyboard no longer covers the input field.
  • Fixed an issue where using "Share" from another app while watching a video returned to the video unexpectedly.
  • Fixed sharing any type of file, including files without a path on disk.
  • The filter text input is now multiline, allowing long phrases to fit properly.
  • Input dialogs can now be closed with the "Back" button.
  • Photos with long captions are no longer compressed into a narrow strip.
  • In landscape orientation, photos and videos now expand smoothly without causing the chat behind them to jump.

The APK size has been reduced: the universal build is now 83 MB instead of 120 MB, while the 64-bit build is 53 MB instead of 77 MB. A version for Android 4.1–4.4 is also available again.

What's new:

  • Message filters: posts containing specified words are collapsed into a single line and can be expanded by tapping it. Filters can be applied to all chats, channels only, or a single chat. Telegram ads are not hidden (MagiX → "Chats" → "Message filters", long-press a folder tab, or use "Hide similar…" in the message menu).
  • Swipe-down search now requires confirmation: a magnifying-glass circle appears, turns blue when the threshold is reached, and triggers a short vibration. Search opens only if you release your finger at that moment.
  • Unneeded message menu items can now be moved to "More…", alongside "Remove from cache" (MagiX → "Message menu items").
  • The order of buttons shown when selecting text can now be customized both in messages and in the input field (MagiX → "Input field" → "Mini-editor buttons").
  • Call screen: the buttons are arranged in a single row inside a capsule, while "End" is placed separately. When headphones or Bluetooth are connected, the "Speaker" button immediately offers a choice of where to route the audio.
  • Incoming calls are now visible on the lock screen, including on Vivo and similar Android skins.
  • Added a "Pause music" toggle to the player.

Fixed:

  • Switching the audio output during a call no longer freezes the screen.
  • Returning to a call from a notification no longer briefly shows the previous chat.
  • The entire reply bar can now be tapped to jump to the original message.
  • Regular (non-animated) emojis in messages containing only emojis are now displayed larger, like in the official client.

Ghost mode has been removed. Telegram's rules for third-party clients explicitly prohibit not marking messages as read and hiding the "online" and "typing…" statuses. Telegram can disable an app's access for such features, which would prevent login from working for all users.

New video player:

  • Controls are displayed in a floating capsule: pause, time, speed, lock, and "⋮". They automatically hide after 4 seconds, and tapping anywhere on the screen shows them again.
  • Settings open in a side panel in landscape mode or from the bottom in portrait mode, with an "✕" button to close them.
  • Playback speed from 0.5× to 2×. The selected speed is remembered for subsequent videos.
  • Child lock: enabled and disabled by holding the lock icon. Scrolling, swipes, and buttons are disabled, while pause still works.
  • Added a screen rotation button and an "Orientation" setting: system default, auto-rotate, or portrait only.
  • Optional gestures: swipe to seek, brightness on the left, volume on the right, and 2× speed by holding. These can be enabled in "⋮" → "Gestures".
  • Added a sleep timer, video repeat, resume playback from where you stopped, and "Tutorial" with an image.
  • Videos no longer flicker when returning to the app.

Also new:

  • Ghost mode: don't mark messages as read, hide your online status, and don't show "typing". All options are disabled by default (MagiX → "Ghost mode").
  • Message menu items can now be hidden and rearranged (MagiX → "Message menu items").
  • On-device translation powered by Google, with no internet connection required after the language has been downloaded (MagiX → "Translation").
  • Videos opened through "Share" now show a preview where you can choose the video quality.
  • Added "Undo" to the editor window.

Fixed:

  • When the keyboard is open, pressing "Back" now hides the keyboard first.
  • Using "Share" from an open chat while the keyboard is visible once again shows the chat selection screen.
  • The bell icon in the "Replies" chat can now be hidden using a toggle.
  • The app name in the system "Share" menu is no longer split incorrectly as "PlumaGra / m".

The file below is a universal build for Android 7.0 and later. Versions for Android 4.1–6 and smaller builds for specific devices are available on GitHub: github.com/Ivan-k0/plumagram-android/releases

The files are now 16–28 MB larger because Google’s translator is built into the app and works directly on the device. Language packs (about 30 MB each) are downloaded only after enabling the translator in MagiX → "Translation".

What's new:

  • Select text directly in a message: a second long press selects a word, and the selection handles can be moved with a magnifier. "Quote", "Copy", "Select all", and "Translate" are shown above the selection.
  • A dedicated selection bar is now available in the input field: "Cut", "Copy", "Paste", and formatting icons are grouped in one place without a constantly changing menu.
  • "Undo" is available in the selection bar for up to 50 steps, including typing, deleting, pasting, and formatting.
  • Links can now be added directly from the selection bar without hiding the keyboard. Accidental taps on selected text no longer clear the selection.
  • A dedicated editor window for your own messages is available through "Editor" in the menu, with "Style", "Blocks", and "Edit" tabs. The "Edit" option still opens the message in the input field.
  • The order of formatting options can now be customized (MagiX → "Formatting menu").
  • Added the new Manrope font. You can switch back to Roboto or the system font if preferred (MagiX → "Font").
  • Calls: the incoming call card can appear over other apps, the call timer is shown in the status bar on Android 12+, and the volume and power buttons can be used to silence the call.
  • The ringtone fade-in time can now be set from 5 to 30 seconds (MagiX → "Calls").
  • Documents: filenames are displayed across two lines, and a "⋮" menu has been added to the file card.
  • The current call banner above the chats can now be hidden.
  • In forum topics, the down arrow now shows counters for messages in the current topic.

Fixed:

  • Text pasted from Word and Excel no longer gets distorted by extra blank lines and spaces.
  • Opening a chat from a notification no longer causes screen flickering.
  • DNG photos no longer open with a black screen.
  • The chat list no longer jumps when the call banner appears.
  • Fixed a video crash on some Android 6 devices.

What's new:

  • New call screen with labeled buttons and audio output selection: phone, headset, Bluetooth, or speaker. Long names are displayed across two lines.
  • The incoming call screen now includes "Decline", "Message", "Mute", and a "Answer" slider, making accidental calls from your pocket much less likely.
  • Quick replies to calls with a message, including from the lock screen. Templates can be configured in MagiX → "Quick call replies".
  • Gradually increasing ringtone volume (MagiX → "Calls").
  • The camera has been moved to the attachment menu, and the input field is now wider. A floating input field can also be enabled.
  • The message menu is now narrower and positioned closer to the center. The Back button closes the menu first.
  • Double-tapping a message sends a reaction (MagiX → "Message menu" → "Double tap"). Disabled by default.
  • Long-pressing a message again allows you to select text.
  • "Play voice messages consecutively" now works without your own voice messages.

Fixed:

  • Audio calls no longer start on speakerphone.
  • Fixed stuttering and a white flash when opening the call screen.
  • Long messages no longer hide notification buttons.
  • The status bar now matches the header color.
  • Forum topics now show only messages from that topic.
  • Files can now be opened by tapping their name.

What's new:

  • Compact message menu inspired by iPhone: reactions and actions are placed in the bottom corner based on the selected hand, the order of items can be customized, and the read time is displayed at the top.
  • Google-free maps — OpenStreetMap.
  • Customize text size in the chat list and font weight (MagiX → "Text").
  • Custom call notification with a profile photo, timer, and "Speaker" and "End" buttons. It is also visible on the lock screen.
  • Added confirmation for deleting and clearing content — the menu appears directly below the top button.
  • Channel posts with tables are now displayed with the author's formatting.

Fixed:

  • Notification buttons were not working, including answering calls, controlling music, and replying to messages.
  • The minimized app could return to the incoming call screen.
  • On some phones, there was no vibration for incoming calls when sound was enabled.
  • Fixed a crash in chats with video messages.
  • Fixed Telegram contacts not all being added to the phone book.

TGx101 is now called PlumaGram, with a new name, icon, and package. It is a separate app, so install PlumaGram, sign in to your account, and then remove TGx101. The fork settings are now available under «MagiX».

What's new:

  • Topics in forum groups — with a topic list, topic creation, and management options.
  • Background transcription of voice messages and video messages — using the «A» button.
  • Vibration when the other person answers a call.

Fixed:

  • Long video messages in «Maximum» quality could not be sent.
  • The loudspeaker could sometimes be enabled during a voice call.
  • Screen flickering when using emojis, notifications, and the «Stars» section.
  • Videos could close after a slight swipe.

If the screen does not turn on when receiving a call, open your phone's Settings → Apps → PlumaGram and allow «Full-screen notifications», display on the lock screen, and «Pop-up windows in the background».
